Warriors Place Eighth at GPAC Championship

ASHLAND, Neb. – Midland University's women's cross country team secured an eighth-place finish at the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Championship on Saturday, held at Mahoney State Park. The Warriors competed in the 6k race, while Dordt University claimed the team title with a commanding performance, placing five runners in the top six.

Danika Leuenberger led Midland's efforts, crossing the line in 40th place with a time of 25:44.86. Madison Bergstrom followed closely, finishing 46th in 25:54.85, and Neveah Sarabia also cracked the top 50, placing 49th with a time of 25:59.48.

Rounding out the Warriors' lineup were Dala Drowne (82nd, 29:52.96), Shyanne Pipkin (86th, 32:33.15), and Amber Rodgers (89th, 36:06.39).

After some time to recover from the challenging season, Midland will turn its focus to the 2024-25 indoor track and field season. Meets get underway in less than a month with the Warriors set to compete in the Mel Tjeerdsma Classic in Maryville, Missouri on Saturday, December 7.
