Six Warriors Earn All-GPAC Honors; Snyder and Rhodes Highlighted

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) has announced its 2024 Volleyball All-Conference Teams and year-end awards, as voted on by the league office. Six Midland University athletes earned recognition, along with two major conference honors: Micah Rhodes was named GPAC Assistant of the Year, and Brooklynn Snyder was selected as GPAC Freshman of the Year.

Earning All-GPAC First Team honors were Abbey Ringler, a senior from Seward, Nebraska, and Brooklynn Snyder, a freshman from Bennington, Nebraska. Jacki Apel, a fifth-year senior from Bellevue, Nebraska, and Delanie Vallinch, a senior from Papillion, Nebraska, were named to the All-GPAC Second Team.

The Warriors also had two players earn honorable mention: Cameran Jansky, a junior from Exeter, Nebraska, and Kailyn Scott, a junior from Broken Bow, Nebraska.

Midland finished third in the GPAC standings with a 12-4 record in conference play. They are ranked No. 20 in the NAIA with an overall record of 17-11. The Warriors earned an at-large berth to the NAIA Championship and will host an opening-round match this weekend.

No. 20 Midland (17-11) will face (RV) Dakota State (18-12) on Saturday, Nov. 23, at 1 p.m. inside the Wikert Event Center in Fremont, Nebraska. The winner will advance to the final site of the NAIA National Volleyball Tournament, which runs Dec. 4-10 at the Tyson Events Center in Sioux City, Iowa.
