
Warriors Shine at Central Nebraska Challenge
KEARNEY, Neb. – Midland University delivered a series of strong performances at the Central Nebraska Challenge on Friday, hosted by the University of Nebraska-Kearney. The Warriors posted multiple top finishes, including two NAIA "B" standard marks in the high jump.
Krista Hardy secured first place in the high jump with a clearance of 1.66 meters, earning an NAIA "B" standard. Kerrigan Myers matched the mark at 1.66 meters but finished second based on a judge's decision, also meeting the NAIA "B" standard. Hannah Newton added a top-five finish, placing fifth with a jump of 1.61 meters.
Myers continued her standout day with a second-place finish in the long jump, recording a leap of 5.63 meters. She also excelled on the track, finishing as the runner-up in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 13.74 seconds.
Midland's 4x100-meter relay team, consisting of Dala Drowne, Aurora Griffin, Farrah Wilson, and Rianna Greene, placed fourth with a time of 50.08 seconds.
In the mid-distance events, Nevaeh Sarabia secured a sixth-place finish in the 800 meters, crossing the line in 2:29.59.
The Warriors will return to action next week at the Friends Spring Open, which will be held Thursday through Saturday in Wichita, Kansas.
