Warriors Excel at SDSU Holiday Invitational

BROOKINGS, S.D. – Midland University kicked off the 2023-24 indoor season with solid opening performances at the SDSU Holiday Invitational, hosted at the Sanford-Jackrabbit Athletic Complex. The event drew competitors from various universities from the region. Nine Warriors recorded top 20 placing in their respective events.

Individual achievements included Navaeh Sarabia's 8th-place finish in the 600m, recording a time of 1:40.27. Kerrigan Myers claimed victory in the 60m hurdles with an impressive time of 8.56. Her time reached the NAIA A-Standard.

Emma Strom secured the 17th spot in the 60m race with a time of 8.05. Kylah Vogel earned 12th place in the 400m race, finishing with a time of 1:07.55.

In the high jump, Kerrigan Myers secured the 13th with a height of 1.53m, and Krista Hardy claimed the 16th spot with a height of 1.48m. Neenah Guerrero had a solid start to the season in the long jump, taking 15th with a distance of 4.94m.

Maggie Heesh had a pair of top-20 finishes. In the weight throw, she was 8th with a toss of 16.52m, and in the shot put she reached 12.80m for 9th.

Looking forward, Midland will be in action next weekend at the Concordia Early Bird Invitational on December 8-9 in Seward, Nebraska. The competition is scheduled to start at 2:00 p.m. on Friday and at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday inside Walz Fieldhouse.
