Warriors Gain Experience, Fall to Jamestown in Dual Meet

JAMESTOWN, N.D. – Midland University returned to the pool this weekend for a dual meet against the University of Jamestown in Jamestown, North Dakota, on Saturday. The Warriors fell to the Jimmies, 201-48, after 14 events.

Midland's Mya Nemechek claimed victory in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 54.48 seconds, winning the event by a full second. Nemechek also earned a second-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:06.12, coming in just under five seconds behind the leader from Jamestown.

The Warriors saw more success in the 100-yard breaststroke, where Quinty Rouschop placed second with a time of 1:13.83, followed by Rachel Sims in third at 1:18.25.

Midland's relay team of Payton Tull, Sophia Gurrieri, Rouschop, and Nemechek took second place in the 200-yard medley, finishing with a time of 1:59.19. They were 5.2 seconds behind first place and more than 14 seconds ahead of the third-place team.

The Warriors will be back in action on Saturday, November 1, when they host Nebraska Wesleyan and Minnesota Morris in Fremont, Nebraska.
