
Warriors Land Eight on All-GPAC Honors List
SIOUX CITY, Iowa – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) has announced the 2023 Women's Soccer All-Conference team, as voted on by the coaches. Midland University had a pair of first-team selections, one second-team pick, and five players earning honorable honors.
Hanna Schimmer and Mikayla Chase were named to the All-GPAC First Team while Rosa Schellmann was named to the All-GPAC Second Team. Emma Andersen, Addison Castellanos, Chloe Dietz, Annie Holst, and Aminata Lewis were all named honorable mentions.
"I'm very proud of those that were recognized by the conference. This is a great accomplishment for them and our program" commented head coach Tatum Tremain. "These eight players have been a huge part of our success this season, especially during conference play. To have this many players honored is a great reflection of our team. Congrats to everyone!"
The Warriors finished third in the GPAC regular season with a 7-2-3 record. As the third seed, they advanced to the GPAC Championship where they won a double-overtime thriller over Dordt, 4-3. That win secured them a bid into the NAIA National Tournament with an overall record of 13-4-4. The Warriors will compete in the first round this coming Thursday in Columbia, Missouri against the University of California-Merced.
