Warriors Claim Fifth at Weekend Invite

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Midland University returned to the bowling alley over the weekend to compete in the Kohawk Invitational, hosted by Coe College. The Warriors finished fifth out of 10 teams with a total score of 7,034. Mount Marty claimed the team title with an overall score of 7,940.

Individually, Kayleigh McKenzie led Midland with an eighth-place finish out of 85 bowlers. She averaged 196 over five games, totaling 980 pins. McKenzie finished strong, rolling three consecutive games of 200 or higher, including an event-high 220 in her third game.

Ashland Hoyt followed closely with an 11th-place finish, tallying 937 pins and averaging 187.4. Her performance included two games of 210 or higher.

Bailee Spriggs placed 27th with a total score of 850, averaging 170 per game. Leia Miller also averaged 170, but bowled in four games, scoring 680 to finish in 61st place.

Kaylee Taylor closely followed, finishing 65th with an average of 153 over four games and a total score of 612.

Rounding out the lineup, Hannah Bowling competed in two games, averaging 138 for a total of 268 pins.

Midland will return to action on Feb. 1-2 at the NAIA Regionals in Topeka, Kansas.
