Warriors Finish Middle of the Pack at NAIA Events

LAWRENCE, Kan. – In a weekend of spirited competition, Midland University took part in a pair of NAIA events in Lawrence, Kansas. Competing against a field of 18 teams from around the region, the Warriors finished near the middle of the pack at both tournaments.

On Saturday, the Warriors secured a 10th-place finish. Performances by Emily Ziegler and Jerika Koopmeiners were the highlights for the team as they both claimed spots in the top 20. Tying for 19th place, Ziegler and Koopmeiners boasted a five-game average of 188.

During Sunday's events, Koopmeiners maintained her form, rolling an average of 175.4 to secure a 20th-place individual finish. Ashland Hoyt secured a 25th-place finish with a 170.0 average as the next-highest placing Warrior. As a team, Midland secured the 11th spot in the overall standings.

Looking ahead, the Warriors will look to make strides at the Hoosier Classic next weekend. The Tier 1 event is set to take place inside the Western Bowl in Indianapolis, Indiana, on February 10-11.
