
No. 21 Warriors Split Games on Second Day in Florida
MELBOURNE, Fla. – No. 21 Midland University took on two new opponents Monday at the Space Coast Spring Games. The Warriors opened the day with a 4-0 win over Lourdes University before falling to Keiser University, 8-4.
GAME ONE: Midland 4, Lourdes 0
Midland struck first in the opening inning after loading the bases with two outs. Matti Reiling delivered a three-run double, driving in Reese Floro, Isabelle Pagan, and Jayci Reimers. Floro led off with a single, Pagan reached on a walk, and Reimers was hit by a pitch.
In the second inning, Pagan extended the lead with a two-out RBI single to right, scoring Floro, who had singled and stolen second.
Lourdes turned to its bullpen in the third inning, and the reliever kept the Warriors quiet the rest of the way. Midland managed four runs on five hits against the starter but recorded just one hit—a Floro double in the fourth—against the relief pitcher.
Mackenzie Groninga was dominant in the circle, striking out 11 while allowing just one hit and three walks in a complete-game victory.

Keiser struck early, scoring one run in the first inning and three more in the third to take a 4-0 lead.
Midland responded in the fourth. Kamdyn Barrientos and Jayci Reimers earned walks, while Alexis Shepherd singled in between to load the bases with two outs. Jenna Lemley delivered a two-run single up the middle and advanced on the throw.
Ariyana Crafton walked to load the bases again, and Floro followed with an RBI single to left, prompting a pitching change. Facing a new arm, Sophie De Rouin worked an RBI walk to tie the game. The Warriors' rally ended with a lineout, but they had evened the score at 4-4.
Midland kept Keiser off the board in the bottom of the fourth, but the Seahawks responded in the fifth with four runs on three hits to reclaim the lead. The Warriors were unable to rally in the final innings, falling 8-4.
Paeton Coler took a no-decision after allowing four earned runs on five hits with two strikeouts in three innings. Campbell Petrick took the loss, pitching three innings and allowing four runs (two earned) on four hits with two strikeouts.
