
Warriors Finish Sixth at GPAC Championship
ASHLAND, Neb. – Midland University took to the course at Mahoney State Park on Saturday for the 2024 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Championship. The Warriors placed 6th as a team while Dordt captured the team title, narrowly beating out Doane.
Lucas Hjortkjaer led the Warriors, finishing 17th with a time of 26:55.99. Jonathan Mahoney was the team's second finisher, placing 27th at 27:30.82. Completing Midland's team scoring were Kelvin Korir (43rd, 28:20.17), Henri Stoeckermann (44th, 28:25.61), and Braden Taylor (46th, 28:26.61).
Also competing for the Warriors were Koen Steenblok (58th, 30:08.01), Felix Grave (65th, 31:05.79), Adrian Imm (69th, 31:36.12), Hudson McCafferty (70th, 31:53.19), and Jay Stoa III (82nd, 34:52.32).
Midland will now await the official announcement of teams and individual qualifiers for the 2024 NAIA Championship, set for November 22 in Columbia, Missouri. Lucas Hjortkjaer has the potential to earn an individual bid depending on the number of teams that garner berths from the GPAC.
