Atwater Picks Up Weekly GPAC Honor

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports have announced the men's outdoor track and field athletes of the week for meets from March 17-23, 2025. Robert Atwater of Midland University was selected as the GPAC Field Athlete of the Week while Porter Bickley of Doane University took home track honors.

Atwater, a senior from Detroit, Michigan, had a solid start to his outdoor season with a pair of wins and a pair of runner-up placings at the Bethel Open. He won the high jump (2.03m) and the long Jump (6.96m) while placing second in the pole vault (4.50m) and the triple jump (13.56m). Midland will be back in action this Friday as it competes at the Central Nebraska Challenge in Kearney.
