
Warriors Fall to No. 13 William Woods on the Road
FULTON, Mo. – Midland University traveled to take on No. 13-ranked Williams Woods University on Sunday in a nonconference dual at the Suzanne Neal Memorial Tennis Complex in Fulton, Missouri. The Warriors faced stiff competition and despite a valiant effort, they fell to the Owls 7-0.
In doubles action, Joren Stevens and Daniel Liebig displayed resilience, pushing Vaclav Schneider and Vitek Subert to a tiebreaker at the No. 1 position. Despite their efforts, the Midland duo narrowly lost the set 7-6 (4) to the Owls' top pair.
Singles play saw the Warriors fall in straight sets in each matchup. Liebig, competing at No. 3s, demonstrated determination by pushing Stepan Mach to an extra game in the first set before succumbing (7-5, 6-2). Similarly, Nathen Bitzer faced a tough challenge at No. 5s, falling to Andres De Los Rios Kolejewska in straight sets (7-5, 6-3).
Midland (7-4, 0-0 GPAC) will return to conference play this weekend when it travels to face Mount Marty (4-2, 1-0 GPAC) on Friday. First serve is set for 12:00 p.m. up in Yankton, South Dakota.
