Warriors Earn Runner-Up Finish at KCAC Championships

HOBART, Ind – Midland University competed in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) Championships in Hobart, Indiana, over the weekend. The three-day event, which started Thursday and ended Saturday, saw the Warrior swimmers earn spots on the podium in 10 events and finish second in the team standings.

On Thursday, Midland earned second place in the 200-yard Freestyle Relay, the first of three second-place finishes on the day. The team, comprised of Nacho Molina, William Hansen, Brody Feist, and Nicolas Ruth, combined for a time of 1:23.87. Later, Zander Livingston also earned a second-place finish in the 200-yard Individual Medley with a time of 1:52.09. The Warriors capped the day with their final silver medal in the 400-yard Medley Relay, where Martin Sener, Livingston, Jeremi Aubin, and Ruth finished in 3:25.51.

Midland started Friday strong by earning second in the 200-yard Medley Relay. Sener, Livingston, Hansen, and Ruth finished just 0.59 seconds behind first place with a time of 1:33.24. The Warriors followed up with second and fourth-place finishes in the 400-yard Individual Medley. Aubin earned silver with a time of 4:08.93, while Artur Arent placed fourth with a time of 4:12.09. Midland also finished 4th, 5th, and 6th in the 100-yard Butterfly, with Hansen, Tichatonga Makaya, and Ruth finishing with times of 51.36, 51.38, and 51.84, respectively.

Livingston earned Midland's only first-place finish of the day in the 100-yard Breaststroke, finishing 0.57 seconds ahead of second place with a time of 55.90 seconds.

The Warriors had a strong finish on Saturday. Arent secured Midland's first top-three finish of the day in the 1650-yard Freestyle with a time of 16:35.61. Aubin finished third in the 200-yard Backstroke with a time of 1:55.10 before taking second in the 200-yard Butterfly, finishing in 1:54.85—just 0.01 seconds behind the winner. Livingston also earned his second first-place finish of the meet, winning the 200-yard Breaststroke in 2:02.75, 2.72 seconds ahead of second place. Midland's fifth and final top-three finish came in the 400-yard Freestyle, with Molina, Ruth, Feist, and Hansen finishing with a time of 3:07.66.

The Warriors now turn their attention to the 2025 NAIA Swimming and Diving Championships at the Elkhart Aquatic Center in Elkhart, Indiana, March 5-8.
