Warriors Suffer Setback to No. 7 Concordia in Final Game of Trip

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Concordia University-Ann Arbor, who is currently ranked No. 7 in the latest NAIA Coaches' Poll, showcased its depth and skill as they overwhelmed Midland University by a score of 34-1 on Wednesday. From the opening whistle, the Cardinal's offensive power was on full display, overpowering the Warriors' defense with a relentless barrage of shots.

Concordia scored early and often, netting an impressive 17 goals in the first half, capitalizing on 43 shot attempts. The onslaught continued into the second half as they extended their lead to an insurmountable 32-0 with just under six minutes remaining in the contest.

Despite the overwhelming pressure from the home side, the Warriors managed to salvage a lone goal late in the game. With 3:27 left on the clock, Midland capitalized on a power play opportunity, as Brian Cole found Preston Davis.

Concordia's depth was evident as 14 players contributed to the scoring effort, with Hunter McCarty leading the charge with an impressive six goals, closely followed by Cooper Regimbal with five goals to his name.

Ethan Eller made his first start in goal for Midland, putting on a commendable performance with 19 saves throughout the game. The Cardinals finished with a 78 to 11 shot advantage, won 27 of the 37 faceoffs, and forced the Warriors into 25 turnovers.

Midland (0-6) will return home to prep for its conference opener this coming weekend. The Warriors will travel to Leavenworth, Kansas to face Saint Mary (1-6) on Sunday, March 17. Action is set to start at 4:00 p.m. on the turf at Charles Berkel Memorial Stadium.
