ADRIAN, Mich. – In a one-sided showdown on Tuesday, Midland University found itself outmatched by Siena Heights University, succumbing to a lopsided 24-1 defeat at O'Laughlin Stadium in Adrian, Michigan.
The Saints wasted no time, netting seven goals in the opening quarter and swiftly establishing an 11-0 lead by halftime. After the halftime break, Siena Heights continued to apply pressure, extending its lead to an imposing 20-0 margin as the third quarter drew to a close.
Midland managed to avoid a shutout, as Leland Thiel scored a solitary goal with 25 seconds in the third. Over the final 15 minutes, Siena Heights added four more goals, solidifying its commanding victory on home turf.
Throughout the game, the Saints asserted their dominance, holding a staggering 64 to 17 advantage in shots and winning 19 of the 28 face-offs. In goal, Wyatt Dudziak and Ethan Eller split time, each taking a half of play. Dudziak recorded 11 saves on 22 shots, while Eller managed 13 saves on 17 shots.
Midland (0-5) will have another tough task at hand on Wednesday as it faces No. 7-ranked Concordia-Ann Arbor (2-3). The teams will take the field at Cardinal Stadium at 3:00 p.m. as the Warriors wrap up their spring break trip.
