
Warriors Fall to Lourdes to Begin Spring Break Trip
SYLVANIA, Ohio – Midland University began a three-game road trip through the Great Lakes region on Sunday with a game against Lourdes University. The Warriors were held scoreless through the first half as they fell to the Gray Wolves by a score of 15-1.
Lourdes raced up the turf for a quick goal in the opening minute and never looked back. Through the first quarter of play, the Gray Wolves held a 4-0 lead on the scoreboard thanks to a 12 to 1 edge in shots in the first 15 minutes.
In the second, Lourdes continued its aggressive attack. They moved in front 7-0 through the first 14 minutes and then added two goals in the final 10 seconds of the half to go up 9-0. The Gray Wolves limited the Warriors to just 6 shots in the first half while putting up 20 themselves.
Midland finally broke through at the start of the third as Gavin Bartling scored with 10:18 on the clock. That proved to be the lone goal of the day for the Warriors as the Gray Wolves' defense clamped down over the final 19-plus minutes.
Additionally, Lourdes was able to find the back of the net six times as they capped off the 15-1 victory.
For the contest, Midland was held to just 12 shots while Lourdes was able to put up 44 attempts. Wyatt Dudziak saw 26 shots reach his level, picking up 11 saves on the day.
Midland (0-4) will have its work cut out for themselves as the road trip continues. Up next will be (RV) Siena Heights (1-3) on Tuesday. The initial faceoff is set for 6:00 p.m. (CT) at O'Laughlin Stadium in Adrian, Michigan.
