Semester Slate Ends for Warriors in Las Vegas
LAS VEGAS – Midland University traveled to Nevada last week to compete in two events over four days. The Warriors recorded a team score of 7,732 to finish 21st out of 55 teams at the Glenn Carlson Las Vegas Invitational. Later in the week, they placed 32nd out of 55 teams at the Collegiate Shoot-Out with a team score of 7,786.
Three Midland bowlers placed in the top 75 out of 498 participants at the Glenn Carlson Las Vegas Invitational. Jack Pearson led the Warriors, finishing 64th with a total score of 1,570 and an average of 196.3 per game.
Brandon Ogden and Michael Saxton followed closely, placing 69th and 74th, respectively. Ogden bowled four games over 200, achieving a total score of 1,548 and an average of 193.5. Saxton totaled 1,538 with an average of 192.3.
Donald Wu was the next-highest finisher for Midland, placing 118th with a total score of 1,433. Despite bowling just seven games, Wu posted an impressive average of 204.7. Cole Macaluso finished 373rd with a total score of 727 and an average of 181.8 after bowling four of the possible eight games.
Addison Johnson and Alijah Bertrand competed in two games each, finishing 433rd and 440th, respectively. Johnson scored a total of 381 with an average of 190.5, while Bertrand totaled 355 with an average of 177.5.
Camryn Stefanini rounded out the Midland lineup, bowling a single game for a score of 180 to place 475th.
In the Collegiate Shoot-Out, the Warriors placed 32nd with a team score of 7,786. Jack Pearson once again led the team, placing 84th with a total score of 1,007 and an average of 201.4. Brandon Ogden followed, finishing 99th with a score of 999 and an average of 199.8.
Other contributors for Midland included Michael Saxton, who tallied 581 with a 193.7 average, and Camryn Stefanini, who scored 576 with a 192 average. Alijah Bertrand recorded a total of 558 with an average of 186, while Cole Macaluso bowled a 406 with a 203 average. Rounding out the team were Casey Upton, who scored 379 with a 189.5 average, and Donald Wu, who finished with a score of 309 and an average of 154.5.
The Warriors will return to action in 2025, competing at the Kohawk Invitational on January 25 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
