Warriors Begin Season at Midwest Collegiate
WAUWATOSA, Wis. – Over the weekend, Midland University began its season at the Midwest Collegiate Championships in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin. The Warriors finished 24th out of 53 teams with a combined total of 8001.
Michael Saxton was individually the highest overall bowler for the Warriors, averaging 217 in his five games while placing 24th. Four out of five of Saxton's games produced a score of 220 or higher with his highest score coming in his final game, a pinfall of 247.
Second for the Warriors was Jack Pearson who finished 50th, averaging 209.2 per game with three of his five games scoring over 225. Camryn Stefanini finished 194th after only bowling four games and averaging 189.75.
Brandon Ogden finished 250th, bowling three games with an average of 195.67, while Cole Macaluso averaged 187.67 in three games and earned 264th place. Alijah Bertrand finished 273rd, bowling three games for an average of 180.67 and Casey Upton bowled two games for an average of 177 and finished 331st.
Savannah College of Art and Design won the team competition with a total score of 8846. The top individual for the event was Webber International University's Austin Grammer who bowled a perfect game in his first game before ending with an average score of 236.
The Warriors will be back on the lanes later this month as they travel to Wichita, Kansas on October 19-20 to compete in the Mid-States Championships.
