Warriors Show Promise in Las Vegas Tournaments
LAS VEGAS, Nev. – Midland University's men's bowling team participated in a pair of highly competitive tournaments held in Las Vegas. The Warriors participated in the Glenn Carlson Las Vegas Invitational and the Las Vegas Collegiate Shootout, demonstrating their skill on the lanes. They placed 18th in the first event before reaching 13th in the second.
In the Glenn Carlson Las Vegas Invitational, Midland University secured the 18th spot out of a field of 47 teams, narrowly missing the cut for the 16-team Baker-style tournament. The team amassed a total score of 8327, with standout Isiah Bautista leading the charge. Bautista's impressive performance earned him a 15th-place finish among the field of 411 bowlers, boasting a noteworthy pinfall of 1825 and an average of 202.8. Miles Peck contributed significantly with a 100th-place finish and a total pinfall of 1485, followed by Jacob Frazier (109th, 1459), Logan Gear (124th, 1422), Jacob Fowler (289th, 910), Brandon Ogden (297th, 878), and Tristyn Forde (387th, 348).
At the Las Vegas Collegiate Shootout, the Warriors maintained their competitive edge, securing the 13th position out of 47 teams with a combined pinfall of 8965. Isiah Bautista continued to shine, claiming the 28th spot with a score of 1265 and an impressive average of 210.8. Brandon Ogden secured the 69th spot with a score of 1186, followed by Jacob Frazier (143rd, 1016), Miles Peck (154th, 992), Tristyn Forde (292nd, 594), Logan Gear (295th, 588), and Addison Johnson (382nd, 181). Jacob Fowler also contributed with a 388th-place finish and a score of 155.
Midland is set to resume action after the holiday break, participating in the Kegel-ISBPA Midwest Classic on January 13-14, 2024, in Addison, Illinois. The Warriors will look to continue to improve on the lanes in the second semester.
