Warriors Place Ninth at Mid-States Championship

WICHITA, Kan. – This past weekend, Midland University joined several other schools from around the Midwest as it competed in the Mid-States Championship down in Wichita. The Warriors placed 9th on the weekend out of 32 teams competing, just missing the cut for the bracketed championship. Wichita State, the host institution, was first after qualifying while Wisconsin-Whitewater won the championship tournament.

Pacing the Warriors on the lanes during individual play were Jacob Frazier and Jacob Fowler, who bowled on the junior varsity team. Frazier had a pinfall of 1190 (198.2 average) to place 50th while Fowler had a total of 1184 (197.3) which was good for 52nd.

Rounding out the Midland varsity team, alongside Frazier, were Isiah Bautista (60th, 1176), Miles Peck (68th, 1159), Addison Johnson (86th, 1115), Brandon Ogden (192nd, 712), and Logan Gear (231st, 525). There were 312 bowlers who rolled at least one game.

Next up for Midland, after a weekend off, will be three straight weeks of competition. First up will be the Bronco Open. That event gets underway on Saturday, November 4 in Hastings, Nebraska.
