Warriors Picked Fifth in GPAC Men’s Basketball Preseason Poll

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) released its 2025-26 Men's Basketball Preseason Coaches' Poll on Wednesday, with Midland University picked to finish fifth. The Warriors, led by head coach Tyler Erwin, earned 60 points in the voting after finishing seventh in the league a season ago.

Northwestern College was tabbed as the preseason favorite, collecting 100 total points and 10 of the 11 possible first-place votes. Morningside University was picked second with 86 points, while Concordia University and Dordt University tied for third with 78 points apiece. Dordt, the defending regular-season champion, received the remaining first-place vote.

Midland will look to build on its momentum from last season as it returns several key contributors under Erwin, who enters his second year at the helm. The Warriors will open the 2025-26 campaign later this month as they prepare for another competitive GPAC slate.
