Orr Named to All-GPAC Team; Two Others Earn Honorable Mentions

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) has announced its 2024-25 Men's Basketball All-Conference Teams. Midland University's Jake Orr was named to the All-GPAC Second Team, while Trey McCain and Jeff Rozelle III received honorable mention honors.

Orr, a junior from Omaha, Nebraska, led the Warriors in scoring (17.4 points per game), rebounds (7.4), and assists (3.7) this season. He eclipsed the 1,000-point mark for his career and is nearing 500 rebounds.

McCain, a freshman from Decorah, Iowa, and Rozelle, a sophomore from Gretna, Nebraska, were both starters alongside Orr. McCain averaged 10.2 points and 2.4 assists per game, while Rozelle contributed 11.3 points and 6.7 rebounds per contest. Midland reached the conference tournament for the first time since the 2016-17 season, finishing seventh in the regular-season standings.

Tristan Smith of Concordia was named the Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Men's Basketball Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year. Northwestern's Jesse Van Kalsbeek earned GPAC Freshman of the Year honors, while Brian Van Haaften of Dordt was selected as Coach of the Year.
