Bio
Coach Lagerstrom was hired as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Midland University ahead of the 2025 season.
Before joining the Warriors, Coach Lagerstrom was named the offensive coordinator for the Texas A&M-Kingsville Javelinas in the spring of 2023 after initially joining the staff as the tight ends coach in 2022.
As the tight ends coach in 2022, Lagerstrom helped guide the Javelinas to their best season since 2016, finishing with a 7-4 record in the regular season, reaching as high as No. 15 in the AFCA Coaches’ Poll, and earning a postseason bowl bid at the Fun Town RV Heritage Bowl in Corsicana, Texas.
Lagerstrom’s tight ends played a crucial role in the Javelinas’ signature 31-24 win over then-No. 12 West Texas A&M, as Walker Ring and Allen Arclies both recorded touchdown receptions, with Arclies’ fourth-quarter score proving to be the game-winner. The win was a historic one for TAMUK, marking the program’s first victory over a ranked team in more than a decade.
On the year, both Arclies and Ring earned All-Lone Star Conference honorable mention honors, combining for 42 receptions and seven touchdowns.
Before arriving in Kingsville, Lagerstrom served as the running backs coach at Angelo State from 2020 to 2022. In 2021, he coached three All-LSC running backs as the Rams averaged 224.9 rushing yards per game, finishing with an 11-3 record and advancing to the NCAA Division II Quarterfinals.
Prior to his time in San Angelo, Lagerstrom worked at Lake Erie College as the wide receivers coach beginning in 2019, where he coached a receiver who broke the school’s single-season receiving yards record and was named conference freshman of the year. His efforts helped the offense improve to the 25th-ranked passing attack in all of Division II.
While at Lake Erie, he earned his Master of Business Administration, graduating with a 4.0 GPA in December 2020. He previously earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from Bowling Green in December 2018, where he also served as a student assistant on the Falcons’ football team from 2016 through the completion of his degree.
