Pair of Warriors Named Academic All-Americans

AUSTIN, Texas – The College Sports Communicators (CSC) released its 2023 NAIA Football Academic All-America teams last week. Midland University had two players named to the 25-man team as voted on by members of the CSC.

Gunnar Vanek and Tray Kingsland were bestowed the honor for the play on the field and work in the classroom. Vanek, a senior from Prague, Nebraska, started at offensive line this season for the Warriors while completing his degree in Agribusiness. Kingsland, a senior from Anchorage, Alaska was a starter for at defensive back. He is majoring in business administration and was one of three members of the Academic All-America team with a perfect cumulative GPA.
