Rocket League Secures Second Place Finish, Headed to Playoffs

FREMONT, Neb. – Midland University's Rocket League team has capped off an impressive regular season by securing a second-place finish in their division during their first year of competition. The Warriors will begin their playoff run on March 27 against Illinois Wesleyan Titans at 6pm.

Midland's trio of Luke 'Sway' Buffington, Cam 'Camqt' Nygaard, and KeRon 'NoRek' Blackwell, have showcased exceptional teamwork and individual skill throughout the season. They lead their division in goals, assists, and shots on goal, showcasing their offensive ability.

Sway emerged as a dominant force on the field, tallying 39 goals, 18 assists, 43 saves, and 96 shots. Luke leads the division in goals and shots, providing incredible offensive pressure for the Warriors.

Camqt contributed significantly to the Warriors' offensive strategy, recording 21 goals, 17 assists, 30 saves, and 54 shots. His in-game leadership and prior coaching experience provided a strong foundation for the team to build from early.

NoRek also made a strong impact, notching 22 goals, 15 assists, 10 saves, and 54 shots. Blackwell's clutch positioning proved valuable in tiebreaking matches.

"These guys make it look easy," said head coach Adrienne McIntire. "They clicked the moment they started playing together. I'm excited to see how far we can go."
