Warriors Split Duals at Viking Challenge

DES MOINES, Iowa – Midland University was back in action on Sunday as it traveled to Des Moines to compete in the Viking Challenge Duals. The Warriors split their duals and earned second place in the overall standings.

In the first round of the dance duals, Midland faced St. Ambrose University. The Warriors scored 90.0, while the Fighting Bees earned 92.75.

Midland rebounded in the second round, securing a win against Hope International University with an improved score of 92.5—an increase of 2.5 points from their first-round performance. Hope International finished with a score of 77.85.

In the overall team standings, Midland placed second with a combined score of 182. St. Ambrose claimed first with 185.8, while Grand View University finished third with 171.89.

"The team is feeling so great (and a little exhausted) about today's performances at Grand View. We took a big chance by packing our first weekend of the competitive season so full, but I do feel it really paid off. We are heading back to practice feeling inspired and excited to get to work!" said head coach Erin Sibbald.

Midland will take a two-week break before traveling to Orange City, Iowa, for the Northwestern Invite on February 14-15.
