Warriors Open Season with Strong Performance at Home
FREMONT, Neb. – Midland University began its competitive dance season on Saturday afternoon inside the Wikert Event Center with its annual invitational. The Warriors welcomed teams from Baker University, Hope International University, and Columbia College.
The Warriors earned top honors from the judges' panel, making history with a program-best season-opening home score of 90.17. The team delivered a clean routine with zero deductions. Baker placed second with a score of 80.27, followed by Hope International in third with 77.77, and Columbia in fourth with 72.87.
"I am incredibly proud of the performance the team brought to the floor this afternoon," said head coach Erin Sibbald. "We have a fairly young team this season, but the upperclassmen have really stepped up to be better leaders than I could have ever asked for, and the culture of this group is truly something special. We received some great feedback that we are eager to apply to our routine, and we are excited to take the floor again tomorrow at Grand View!"
Midland will have a quick turnaround as it travels to Des Moines, Iowa, to compete in the Grand View Challenge on Sunday, January 26.
