Warriors Take Second at Iowa Western Invite

LINCOLN, Neb. – Midland University competed in the Iowa Western Invite over the weekend at the Lincoln Trap and Skeet Club, finishing second in the HOA standings with a score of 1,866. Fort Hays State won the meet with a score of 1,871.

In the doubles trap team competition, Midland took first place with a score of 938. Brayden Bliss led the Warriors with a 194, followed by Grayson Stuart with a 187. Audric Scheidel and Atley Painter each recorded a 186, while Gil Palmer posted a 185.

Midland placed second in the doubles skeet team event, shooting a 928. Fort Hays claimed first with a 944. Dalton Blaha paced the Warriors with a 190, while Chase Carrere shot a 187. Amy Cawley and Ben Swanson each recorded a 184, and Hunter Martin finished with a 183.

Bliss' 194 in doubles trap earned him runner-up honors, while Blaha's 190 in doubles skeet placed him third overall.

Midland will now prepare for the ACUI/SCTP National Championships, set for March 17-22 in San Antonio, Texas.
