
GPAC Releases Preseason Cheer and Dance Polls
SIOUX CITY, Iowa – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) has released its 2025 Competitive Dance and Competitive Cheer Preseason Polls. Midland University's dance team was picked to win the conference title once again, while the cheer team was tabbed as the runner-up in its poll.
The Warriors' dance squad topped the coaches' poll with 47 points, including six first-place votes. Morningside was picked second with 41 points and one first-place vote, while Doane ranked third with 40 points and the remaining first-place vote.
Northwestern was selected as the favorite to win the GPAC cheer title after claiming the championship banner last season. The Red Raiders earned 64 points and eight first-place votes. Midland followed in second with 56 points and the final first-place vote, while Dordt was picked third with 43 points.
Eight GPAC schools will compete in dance this season, while nine teams will participate in cheer. The 2025 GPAC Dance Championship will be held on March 7 at Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska, with the GPAC Cheer Championship following on March 8, also in Seward.
