Warriors Finish Season at NAIA Nationals
YPSILANTI, Mich. – Midland University made its sixth appearance at the NAIA National Cheer Championship, traveling to Ypsilanti, Michigan over the weekend. The Warriors concluded their season's journey with a 14th-place finish, achieving an overall score of 83.04.
In the preliminary round, Midland earned a score of 80.05, slotting into 14th place heading into the final day.
Demonstrating remarkable improvement, the Warriors elevated their performance in the finals, boosting their score by nearly four points to reach 84.03. With prelims accounting for 25% and finals for 75% of the total score, Midland garnered an overall score of 83.04, maintaining its 14th place position.
"This year has definitely been a long ride and we were excited to end it at the national championship. There has been so much adversity this team has had to conquer and I am proud of this team no matter what," commented head coach Kayla Rojas. "Of course, this wasn't the outcome we were hoping for and it was tough. But we were still blessed with the opportunity to do what we do and can learn from it. I am excited to jump into planning for next year with new goals, expectations, and visions for this program."
