
No. 6 Warriors Earn Series Sweep of No. 14 Jamestown with Shutouts
FREMONT, Neb. — No. 6-ranked Midland University earned a pair of dominant 4-0 victories over No. 14-ranked University of Jamestown this weekend at Sidner Ice Arena, recording back-to-back shutouts to sweep the series. The Warriors wore special cancer awareness jerseys during Saturday's game as part of a fundraising and awareness initiative.

The Warriors set the tone early in Friday night's opener, scoring three times in the first period to take control. Brooke Barylski opened the scoring with a power-play goal at 4:11, assisted by Katie McNair and Grace Page. Darbi Poole doubled the lead at 8:29, converting a feed from Sydni Richards and Page. Rylee Martin added another power-play tally at 16:52 off assists from Poole and Page, giving Midland a commanding 3-0 advantage.
In the second period, Page added an unassisted goal at 3:56 to cap the scoring. Midland's defense stifled the Jimmies, allowing just 18 total shots. Goaltender Meghan Stewart stopped all 18 attempts to secure the shutout victory.
SUNDAY: Midland 4, Jamestown 0
Midland carried its momentum into Saturday's rematch, once again shutting down Jamestown while finding the back of the net four times. Katie McNair opened the scoring on the power play at 4:43 of the first period, assisted by Callie Maguire and Makenna Larson.
Midland extended its lead in the second period with a pair of goals. Maguire struck on the power play at 5:49, with Darbi Poole assisting. Later in the period, Taylor Bell scored at 10:59, assisted by Grace Page and Poole. Jaicee Huberdeau added an insurance goal late in the third period, finishing a setup from Brooke Barylski.
The Warriors outshot the Jimmies 35-21, with Natalie Rampton recording the shutout between the pipes. The Jimmies struggled to capitalize on power-play opportunities, going 0-for-6 on the afternoon.
Midland (22-6-0) will be back in action next weekend when it hosts Minnesota (4-16-2). The Warriors and Golden Gophers will face off in a two-game series beginning on Saturday in Fremont.
