Bio

Benjamin J. Zuch, ’11, was a standout in Track and Field at Midland. As a high jumper, Ben qualified for the NAIA National Track and Field Championships a total of 8 times – 4 indoor and 4 outdoor. He earned NAIA All-America honors in 2010 outdoors with a 4th place finish, in 2011 outdoors with a 2nd place finish, and in 2011 indoors with a 1st place finish. In the GPAC Championship competition, Ben finished runner-up in both the 2008 indoor and outdoor high jump, and then he took 1st place in the indoor and outdoor high jump in 2009, 2010, and 2011. In 2011, Ben set the GPAC Indoor Championship record with a jump of 7’ 1/2”. Earlier in the 2011 indoor season, Ben set the Midland Indoor High Jump record with a jump of 7’ 2 1/2”. He was named the NAIA National Athlete of the Week for indoor track twice in 2011. Ben earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Midland in Elementary Education with a Coaching Endorsement, and he currently teaches for Fremont Public Schools as a 4th-grade teacher. He is also an assistant track coach for Fremont High School, working with the long, triple, and high jumpers. Originally from Fremont, Ben and his wife, Teal, still reside in Fremont. Benjamin J. Zuch is inducted into the Warrior Athletic Hall of Fame for his outstanding athletic accomplishments.
