Bio
Denise Day York, '83, excelled in track and field for four years at Midland Lutheran College. She also participated in basketball as a freshman and cross country as a senior. York ranks as one of the best all-time track athletes at Midland. In Indoor Track and Field, York holds school records in the 220-yard hurdles, 600-yard run, 1000-yard run, and 440-yard relay. She holds the NAIA National Indoor Record for the 1000-meter run and she earned NAIA All-America honors in Indoor Track in 1981, 1982, and 1983. In Outdoor Track and Field, York holds school records in the 800-meter run, 1600-meter relay, and 3200-meter relay. She was the NAIA National Outdoor Track Champion in the 800-meter run as a junior and she earned NAIA All-America honors in Outdoor Track in 1981 and 1982. York is a Medical Technologist with Alegent Health Systems in Omaha. She is inducted into the Warrior Athletic Hall of Fame for her outstanding athletic accomplishments.
