Bio

Mike Wiesen, '83, participated in football and track and field at Midland. In football, he earned All-Conference and All-District honors as a fullback in 1981 and 1982, as well as Honorable Mention All-America honors in both years. In addition, Wiesen was named captain of the All-State team in the Omaha World-Herald in '82. Upon graduation, Wiesen ranked 9th on the all-time rushing list at MLC with 1,403 total yards. He led the Warriors in rushing and scoring in both '81 and '82. As a member of the 1979 Warrior football team, Wiesen was a member of the record-setting 440-yard relay team with a time of 44.6 seconds in indoor track and the record-setting 800-meter relay team with a time of 1:28.97 in outdoor track. He was also a member of the mile relay team that ranks 10th all-time at MLC in indoor track. In outdoor track, Wiesen was a member of the distance medley relay team that ranks 2nd all-time at MLC, the 400-meter relay team that ranks 7th all-time, and the 1600-meter relay team that ranks 8th all-time. As an assistant track coach for Midland in 1989, Wiesen was inducted in 1999 into the Warrior Athletic Hall of Fame as a member of the national champion 1989 women's indoor track and field team. He was the recipient of the Petrow Award in 1983. He is employed by the Nebraska State Education Association as a Labor Relations Consultant. Wiesen is inducted into the Warrior Athletic Hall of Fame for his outstanding athletic accomplishments.
