Dr. Cecil E. Walker, past division chairman of education at Midland, is honored in the Warrior Athletic Hal of Fame for his lasting influence on Midland students and for his extensive involvement in athletic officiating. He was a basketball standout at Peru State Teachers College. He later became involved in officiating college football and basketball, accumulating over 35 years of experience. He was a Big Eight official, commissioner to the Nebraska College Athletic Conference, and a supervisor for the Nebraska High School State Tournament Officials. He is active in many civic endeavors, including Rotary, the YMCA, the Fremont Chamber of Commerce, Fremont Golf Club, and First Lutheran Church. He earned his doctorate from the University of Nebraska. Dr. Walker is an athlete and a scholar., His allegiance to Midland and his dedicated contributions to athletics make him an outstanding candidate for the Warrior Hall of Fame.
