Bio
Joe Vojtech, '72, participated in football and baseball while attending Midland Lutheran College. After graduation, Joe began his career at Archbishop Bergan High School in Fremont, where he coached football and track for 20 years and wrestling for 12 years, coaching state champions in all three sports. He was also activities director for 19 years and principal for four years. His coaching career has been very rewarding with a career football coaching record of 112-46-3. He mentored Bergan athletes Brad Ottis, who went on to play with the Los Angeles Rams, and Zach Wiegert, the 1994 Outland Trophy winner and NFL player with the now St. Louis Rams. He has received many honors which include receiving the Midland Lutheran College Outstanding Young Alumni Award in 1984, being twice voted as the National Coaches Association Football representative from Nebraska, and being awarded an Outstanding Service Award by the Nebraska Athletics Directors Association in 1994. He recently began a new career at Millard West High School in Omaha as an assistant football coach and math instructor. Joe is inducted into the Midland Warrior Athletic Hall of Fame in recognition of his outstanding achievements in education and coaching.
