Bio
Shelli Riedmiller-Swerczek ’92 was a standout point guard in basketball at Midland. A four-year starter from 1988-92, Shelli set school records for assists in a game (13), assists in a season (190), assists in a career (475), steals in a season (101), steals in a career (313), free throw percentage in a season (82.1%) and free throw percentage in a career (80.8%). In addition, she scored 1,128 career points. For her career, Shelli averaged 9.6 points per game and an impressive 4.0 assists per game. She earned All-Conference honors in 1990 and 1992, and she helped lead Midland to the NAIA National Championship Tournament for three consecutive years (1990, ’91, ’92). Shelli quarterbacked Midland to an overall record of 88-30 during her career. Shelli graduated from Midland with a degree in Elementary Education with concentrations in coaching and early childhood. For 18 years, she taught elementary schools for Cedar Rapids Public Schools. She also coached volleyball and girls’ basketball at the junior high and high school levels. Shelli Riedmiller- Swerczek is inducted into the Warrior Athletic Hall of Fame for her outstanding athletic accomplishments.
