Bio
Larry Stednitz, '64, participated in football and track during his college career at Midland College. In football, during his junior year, he smashed two records, most yards (162) gained in one contest and most yards (766) gained in one season. During his senior year, he ran for 202 yards against Sioux Falls to break his old record. He was ranked in the top 10 nationally in rushing and punting, received an Honorable Mention All-American, and was named to the ALL League. He also served as captain every year. He went on to play professional football with the Omaha Mustangs for five years. Stednitz threw the shot put and discus during his track tenure at Midland. The track squad was the Tri-State Conference Champions during his sophomore year. In recent years, he competed in the Big Sky State Games in Montana, winning a gold medal for throwing the shot put 35 feet, 9 inches. Stednitz earned a doctoral degree and is the National Director of Clinical Development in Montana. He is inducted into the Midland Warrior Athletic Hall of Fame for his outstanding athletic and professional achievements.
