Bio

Whit Smith, '08, was a standout in Track and Field at Midland from 2002-2004. As a high jumper, Whit qualified for the NAIA National Track and Field Championships a total of 6 times - 3 indoor and 3 outdoor. Not only did he qualify in the high jump a total of 6 times from 2002-04, he won the NAIA National Championship a total of 6 times. For his accomplishments, Whit was named an NAIA All-American in 2002, 2003, and 2004 in both indoor and outdoor. In the GPAC Championship competition, Whit was the conference champion in the high jump in 2002, 2003, and 2004 in both indoor and outdoor meets. Whit is currently ranked 2nd all-time at Midland in the indoor high jump with a mark of 7'1" and currently holds the all-time Midland record in the outdoor high jump with a mark of 7'3". Whit earned his Bacherlo's Degree from Midland in 2008 in Fitness and Sports Management. He currently works at Mid-America Computer Corporation in Blair, NE as a maintenance technician. Whit and his wife, Sarah, live in Tekamah, NE with their three children, Christopher, Keegan, and Connor. Whit Smith is inducted into the Warrior Athletic Hall of Fame for his outstanding athletic accomplishments.
