Bio

William "Irv" Schwartz, '33, was a member of the famed "Merry Magicians" basketball team which won three conference championships. In addition, he played football and was on the track team. Upon graduation, he taught and coached at Brady and David City, Nebraska. He was also employed as a field representative for Midland College. After entering the implementation business, he stayed active in education by serving as president of the Nebraska State School Board, President of Central Technical Community College, and President of the Hildreth Public School Board. One of his greatest achievements, developing the program of Deep Well Irrigation in South Central Nebraska, demonstrates his willingness to work for the improvement of life for his fellow man and his commitment to excellence in all areas of his life.
