Bio

Perhaps no other high school baseball coach in the state has merited as much recognition as Bill Olson. After a successful athletic career at Midland College, Bill entered into a 25-year coaching career serving in North Platte, Scribner, Council Bluffs, and Omaha Northwest high schools. He has coached a national baseball championship team and has led two teams to state championships. Both the Omaha World-Herald and the Lincoln Star Journal have named him Coach of the Year. In 1984, he was chosen National High School Baseball Coach of the Year. Bill Olson has been an influence on the lives of young people on the field and in the classroom. Twice his colleagues and students have chosen him as Teacher of the Year. In education, church life, and as a parent, he has exemplified the goals and mission of Midland Lutheran College and has brought honor to the athletic history of the educational institutions of which he has been a part.
