Bio
Walt Olsen, '77 played football at Midland Lutheran College for four years, serving as starting quarterback for three years and as captain his senior year. He was named twice to the All-Conference and All-District teams and twice to the Nebraska All-State college football team. He ranks as the Warriors' eighth all-time passer with 1,771 yards. While at Midland, he played on Midland's Championship Mineral Water Bowl team, in the Lutheran Brotherhood Bowl, and was a member of three conference championship teams. Olsen also was a pitcher on the baseball team during three of his college years. Since graduation, he has been a high school football coach in Nebraska and Iowa. He coached both the 1993 and 1994 Nebraska State Championship football teams in Hastings and has been a head coach for the Nebraska Shrine Bowl. Olsen is inducted into the Midland Warrior Athletic Hall of Fame for his outstanding athletic and coaching achievements.
