Russ Ninemire, '75, played football and baseball while at Midland. A four-year starter in football, he was a member of the Warrior team that played in the 1974 Mineral Bowl. In baseball, Ninemire received All-Conference honors all four years, and in 1975 was voted Most Valuable Player for Midland, leading the team in hits. After graduation, Ninemire became a teacher and coach. He coached the Sandy Creek High School girls' basketball team to six state titles in the '90s. He was named "Coach of the Year" by the Lincoln Journal-Star and Omaha World-Herald newspapers. Ninemire is inducted into the Midland Warrior Athletic Hall of Fame for outstanding athletic and coaching achievements.
