Bio
Diane Ninemire is recognized as one of the elite college softball coaches in the country. Coach Ninemire became the head softball coach at the University of California in 1988 and is only the 9th coach in the history of NCAA I softball to record 1,000 wins. From 1999-2005, Coach Ninemire led Cal to seven consecutive trips to the College World Series, making history in 2002 when she guided Cal to its first NCAA Championship. The NCAA Championship was the first women's title in Cal athletic program history. Coach Ninemire has coached 28 All-America softball players at Cal, including three former players that have been members of the United States Olympic Team. She was inducted into the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Hall of Fame in 2009. Coach Ninemire began her collegiate playing career at Midland in 1976, participating in basketball and softball. She led Midland softball to a state championship in 1977. Midland dropped the sport of softball in 1977 and Ninemire transferred to the University of Nebraska-Omaha. She played basketball and softball for three years at UNO, helping the UNO softball team to the 1978 championship and three appearances in the College World Series. Diane Ninemire is inducted into the Warrior Athletic Hall of Fame for her outstanding coaching accomplishments.
