Bio

Holder of six all-time school passing records, explosive passer, and team leader, Bill Nelsen is the embodiment of an athlete-scholar.  He holds honors as an all-tri-state quarterback and a 1963 member of the all-Lutheran college team.  He was fifth in the nation in passing yardage in 1960 as a freshman and was a seven-varsity letter winner.  A summa cum laude graduate and national debate champion, he was a Fulbright Scholar, Woodrow Wilson, and Danforth graduate fellow with graduate degrees from Columbia and the University of Pennsylvania.  A distinguished career in administrative and academic planning elevated him to the presidency of Augustana College (SD) and the Citizens’ Scholarship Foundation of America.
