Bio

Doug Muehlig, '72, participated in football from 1968-1971 at Midland. As an offensive tackle for Head Coach Max Kitzelman (1968-70) and Head Coach Don Watchorn (1971), Muehlig was a mainstay as a starter for the Warriors. He started every game of his four-year career at MLC. At the conclusion of the 1971 season, Muehlig was named All-Conference, All-District, All-State, and Honorable Mention Lutheran All-American. Currently, in his 35th year of teaching and coaching at Thomas Jefferson High School in Council Bluffs, IA, Muehlig has been involved in football and track and field throughout his professional career. He has coached several state track and field champions. Since 1972, he has taught journalism and social studies at Thomas Jefferson. Muehlig is inducted into the Warrior Athletic Hall of Fame for his outstanding athletic achievements.
