Bio

An outstanding athlete, Rhonda Mechaelsen, ’80, participated in both basketball and softball during her years at Midland.  In addition to teaching elementary grades for Eagle Grove Community Schools for ten years, coaching has been a big part of her life since graduation.  Rhonda coached 9th-grade girls' basketball for one year, 8th-grade girls' basketball for five years, was an assistant softball and track coach for two years, and a junior high girls' track coach for eight years.  She also participated in a women’s basketball league for six years, on a slow-pitch softball team for four years, and played co-ed volleyball for three years.  For her excellence as a Midland athlete and success as a teacher and coach, Rhonda is inducted into the Hall of Fame.
