Bio

Jerald Mason, '88, was a standout Fullback in Coach Don Watchorn's vaunted wishbone attack from 1984-1986. In 1985, Mason made his presence known on the football field, finishing the season with NIAC 1st Team All-Conference honors and NAIA Honorable Mention All-America honors. Mason helped guide the Warriors to a NIAC Championship in 1985, rushing for 1,227 yards and scoring 11 touchdowns. During the '85 season, he had an impressive 279-yard effort against Chadron State College. His effort against Chadron State is still the single-game rushing record at Midland. For his career, Mason rushed for 2,158 total yards and 15 touchdowns. He averaged an impressive 5.72 yards per carry for his career. Jerald earned his Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice from Colorado State University in 1996. He served in the United States Navy for eight years and then served as a juvenile probation officer for three years. Jerald was also a federal probation officer for 20 years, retiring in January 2020. Jerald lives in Denver, CO and he has two children: Alexandra and Joshua. He is also the proud grandfather of King and Harmony. Jerald Mason is inducted into the Warrior Athletic Hall of Fame for his outstanding athletic accomplishments.
