Bio

Gene Martin, '59, participated in football, basketball, and track while attending Midland College. He scored the winning touchdown in the Warrior football game against Nebraska Wesleyan during his sophomore year. Also during his sophomore year, he scored the winning basket in the basketball game against Doane. In track, he set a school record in the 440 during his freshman year. Gene credits athletics as a base for developing a strong work ethic in life. He coached little league baseball and basketball and officiated high school basketball for 10 years and high school and college football for 23 years. He was employed by Ford Motor Co. for 29 years, retiring in 1989. Gene is inducted into the Midland Warrior Athletic Hall of Fame for his outstanding athletic and professional achievements.
