Casey Micek, '79, was a four-year starter in football as a defensive back. Considered by many to be one of the best defensive backs in MLC history, Micek started all but one game during his career. In 1977, and again in 1979, Micek recorded 5 interceptions in each season, earning all-conference recognition in both years. He also earned All-District honors in '79. Micek led MLC to a 9-0 regular season record and a berth into the NAIA national playoffs in 1979, helping the Warriors to finish the season ranked 5th in the nation. During his four years as a member of the Warrior football team, Micek helped lead MLC to an overall record of 33-6 and four conference championship titles. He is employed by Behlen Manufacturing in Columbus, Nebraska. Micek is inducted into the Warrior Athletic Hall of Fame for his outstanding athletic accomplishments.
